James has been an avid sports person since childhood and excelled in rugby which he played professionally and internationally. Due to an injury, James had to hang up his boots but found CrossFit as a result and has never looked back.
James prides himself on his affable, professional and fun teaching style and loves the technical aspects of coaching. He enjoys helping clients reach their potential and believes health and fitness is for everyone. With clients, James views training as a methodology for longevity, improved well-being and better mental health rather than just chasing numbers. He helps clients attain this by working with them on sleep, nutrition and stress management as well as a combination of Olympic lifting, functional bodybuilding, gymnastics, mobility and metabolic conditioning.
James is CrossFit Level 2 and CrossFit Kids certified and also holds an engineering degree from Bath University. Outside of work he enjoys everything from triathlon training to surfing.
