Q: Amir Fahmy 2017 CrossFit Game Athlete. How does that sound?
A: Sounds pretty unreal since three years ago that was a dream of mine!
Q: Tell the members a bit about yourself.
A: I am 15 years old and I train after school for about 2 to 3 hours everyday. I have always been extremely passionate about fitness since I first began at AMF at 11 years old. I used to play rugby twice a week and attend the Bootcamp 4 times a week. About 2 years ago I began my CrossFit journey at CrossFit Yas.
Q: How long have you been training for?
A: I have been training in CrossFit since Vogue Fitness opened in 2014.
Q: Away from CrossFit, what other sports are you involved in?
A: Boxing and Brazilian Jui Jitsu.
Q: You have been working closely with Coach Elliot to achieve this result. How has it been working with him?
A: Since training with Elliot I have improved dramatically in my gymnastic work, Olympic lifting and my overall fitness. Elliot has been pretty amazing on all levels since he volunteered to coach me - he has helped me develop as a crossfitter and a person. I feel that I owe a lot of my recent success to Elliot and the support he has given me.
Q: What are your goals for the 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games?
A: To do my best and hopefully be placed in the top ten for my age category.
Q: What would be the perfect workout that you would like to appear at The Games?
A: 1 Rep Max Weighted Ring Dip!!
Q: Does the pressure concern you? How are you planning on handling the attention?
A: I try not to think about the pressure - I just want to focus on enjoying The Games and supporting the CrossFit Yas Team.
